Pacheta Falls, falling down from the Mogollon Rim country. Pacheta Creek is prime Apache Trout habitat and its steep drop prevent introduce species from migrating up-stream. The surrounding rim country is also prime bighorn sheep country and the tribe manages the hunting.
The White Mountain Apaches have received special attention for their stream and lake restoration programs. Here in the Salt River drainage the tribe is monitoring fish populations to guage affect of upstream post-forest fire run-off in the aftermath of the Rodeo Chedeski fire.
