Over-view of the Joseph Creek drainage, with ponderosa pines, Pinus ponderosa, and Douglas firs, Pseudotsuga menziesii, lining the steep side drainages. The Nez Perce Precious Land in Northeast Oregon, reclaimed ancestrial "wintering camps" of Chief Joseph. Together with the Trust for Public Land, the tribe reacquired 10,300 acres of prime bottomland habitat.
